The Party of One scene with straight haired pinkie from a party of one was such an apparent sift from pinkie's usual joy and silliness people differentiated her by calling her by full name instead of nickname. It is not because of they don't know that Pinkamena is the full name f Pinkie, but because they do not think that the nickname pinkie fits as well when pinkie is sad so they call straight-haired pinkie pinkamena, and normal pinkie simply pinkie, and in some people's minds made them separate entities. Some go so far as to claim she has some form of multiple personalities disorder because of the change in mood, though I disagree.
the bit about being a killer, is due to the slightly insane actions she had (talking to inanimate objects) causing people decide to draw all art of the pinkie from the fanfic "cupcakes" with straight hair. The "Cupcakes" fanfic is a badly written but well known "horror" story that involves bloody torture and pinkie making a certain pony with a rainbow mane into cupcakes. This decision to make art of the fanfic straight haired could have been as a way to distance the fanfic character from the joyfulness of pinkie, but I don't know. I find it annoying that even when it is a picture of simply sad pinkie with straight hair people think of the fanfic especially when no correlation between the picture and fanfic is made. As a extension a lot of combat art of pinkie that is darkly themed, and deadly serious has straight maned pinkie for similar reasons.
My opinion is simply that pinkie gets straight hair at the lowest points of her life and have thoroughly enjoyed the fact that it is limited enough in the show to show that pinkie is seriously depressed when it happens. I find it simply gives her more depth of character.
